We first introduced Santaluz resident Rosie DeSimone in our December 2019 issue, where we featured DeSimone and her blanket company, Big Lovie, which has giving back at its core. Now, DeSimone has partnered with Susan G. Komen San Diego as the organization gears up for its annual More Than Pink dinner, which is going entirely virtual on May 29. Big Lovie has launched a campaign featuring a new blanket style that will donate a portion of the proceeds of every sale to the cause. Structured as a crowdfunded campaign, it will require a minimum of 200 blankets to be sold, and the more blankets purchased, the greater the final donation to Susan G. Komen San Diego. DeSimone’s goal is a $15,000 donation. The promotional event will run through June 5.
“The message ‘Hope. Strength. Love.’ has resonated in the breast cancer fight for many years and was a natural choice to be the blanket’s design,” says DeSimone. “It is an inspiration for the cancer warriors, survivors, and all those who support them. A message to unite and inspire all of us. In these unusual times, it’s true that all of our spirits can be lifted. This fundraiser not only provides much needed financial support to Komen San Diego, it will also bring warmth and comfort to the supporters.”
Corporate sponsorships are also available. Free shipping is offered for the first 200 blankets sold. For more information and to purchase, click here.
