The greatest gift to give someone is pure attention. What kind of listener are you? Have you thought about it?
Being a good listener sounds easy but my habits are to think ahead of the conversation or worse think about my thoughts on the topic. Yes - while someone else is talking!
The good thing is, once I became aware that I did this... I could start to change it.
What works for me is to take a few seconds to see that person for everything they are. Truly, they become fascinating. I stop thinking about what I want to say next.
I totally believe that the biggest obstacle to being a good listener is not being in the present moment. If you are worried about the past or planning the future, you don't have space to enjoy the now. And being in the present... is also the fastest way to become an amazing listener!
